About the method, not about this product.
not flush
A blade that cuts the hair below skin level leaves a sharp tip that can grow back into the follicle. Clinical guidance for people prone to that is to leave about 1 mm of stubble rather than going flush — which is the distance a comb guard is built to hold.

In a 2024 study of 655 people, clipper users had roughly half the odds of the condition. Single-blade razors and waxing both carried higher odds. Among the women in it, the bikini line was the most affected area.

This is a grooming appliance, not a treatment. It trims and shaves — it doesn't cure, prevent or fix anything about your skin. What it changes is the method: a guarded blade held at a set distance instead of a bare edge dragged across the skin, and no wax, no strips, no appointment. Whether that suits you better than what you use now is your call, and you have 30 days to decide.

Will it give me a completely smooth, hair-free finish?
With the foil head, it takes hair down very close. With the comb guard on, it deliberately leaves a short length — that's the design, not a shortcoming. If you want the skin bare and shining, an epilator or wax does that and this doesn't pretend to.
Will it stop me getting ingrown hairs?
We can't promise that and we won't. What the published research says about why razors cause them is set out above, with sources, so you can judge whether a guarded blade suits your skin better than a bare one.
Does it hurt or pull?
It cuts, it doesn't pull — there's no wax, no strips and no tweezing action. Most people describe a vibration and a tickle. Go slowly the first time, especially on skin that's new to it.
Can I use it in the shower?
Yes. It's waterproof and rinses clean under a running tap. Dry it before charging.
How long does the charge last?
It charges over USB-C from any phone charger or laptop. A full charge covers several sessions — you're not charging it every time.
I've never heard of this brand. How do I know it's any good?

That's what the guard is for — it keeps the blade off the skin rather than flush against it. Start with the guard on, go slowly, and switch to the foil head only once you know how your skin responds.
